Lighting Control

Lighting control is the most common feature of an automation project, and for good reason. Lighting automation means every light in your home or venue can be controlled from your smart devices whilst not limiting your lighting choices at all. Lighting automation removes the need to have so many outdated switches all over your building, and instead allows us to install modern, intelligent wall switches that can control the lights, shades, climate and music in that area all from a regular size light switch. Switch options are at impressive levels with beautiful, modern designs that far exceed the standard light switches you may be used to. We work with you and your designers to select switches that perfectly match your home’s interior, based on the smart building integrations you select. Our favourite switches include the Clipsal Saturn Zen range, Ekinex 20Venti and Signum, and Basalte’s stunning range.

Lighting automation means you can control it from your phone anywhere in the world, create time-based schedules, and add groups of lights into single ‘scenes’. For example, each room could have a Bright & Soft scene so you can enter a room, press one button, and all the lights in the area will ramp to the perfect levels set by you. Utilise sensors and automated lighting for added luxury in areas such as hallways, stairways and robes where we can program groups of lights to ramp up as you walk past. Rather than the starkness of lights suddenly switching on, we program our systems so they gradually get brighter over a few seconds, for a calming environment of sophistication. Day or night programming of these sensors also means the lights ramp to different levels depending on the time of day. We can even use automated lighting to compliment your circadian rhythm, which is your internal clock that cycles between sleepiness and alertness at regular intervals. Your circadian rhythm functions best when you have regular sleep habits. Disruptions to this rhythm can make you feel washed out and make it harder for you to pay attention. Lighting can be programmed to mimic the sun’s daily patterns by automatically shifting the warmth and brightness incrementally throughout the day. The consistency will create spaces that feel restorative, natural and functional, and help create a regular sleep pattern for overall wellness.

All the lighting in your building can be integrated into one system, including both interior and exterior lighting. Automating your exterior lighting means Scenes can be programmed so you can control all the exterior lighting together with one button, or it can be added onto Schedules to turn on at sunset every night and turn off whenever works for you. It can also be integrated into your security system so the exterior lighting will strobe when the alarm is triggered. When you’re going out, press one Goodbye button and be certain that everything is turned off.
