Reliable smart homes need to have a physical building management system at the core so that the elements in a building can share information with each other. For example, a light switch ‘talking’ to a dimmer to tell it how bright to set a light. We install 2 main building management systems- C-Bus & KNX. C-Bus is for smaller systems and KNX is for large systems. The switches you’d like in your home will also influence which BMS should be used. We offer switches from Clipsal, Ekinex or Basalte. We then overlay a control system. The control system is the umbrella all integrations sit under. It pulls it all together and allows everything to work as one. We use Savant Home and Basalte Home control systems. This is what you’ll interact with from your phone app and the touchpanels and remotes around the home. So for your smart home, we’ll need to choose a BMS, a control system and switches.
